The fourth, fifth, and sixth months of pregnancy is called trimester 2. Baby movements usually occur this month,
which is usually an exciting experience for a couple. The baby moves, swallows, and can even hear your voice. It is about
7 inches long and weighs about 5 ounces in the fourth month of pregnancy. Hunger is also another symptom of pregnancy. Meaning
that, a woman can be carving certain foods. They start eating a little more than usual. In the fourth month, the mother will
start gaining weight.
During the fifth month, the gender of the baby can be identified. By the fourth and fifth month,
your stomach will start stretching so that it can hold the baby. That may start causing
lower abdominal pains that feel like cramps. As your stomach grows sleeping comfortably
may become difficult. With a growing stomach, most pregnant women sleep on thier back. At the end of the fifth month of pregnancy
the baby is about 10 inches long and weighs about a pound.
only four months left to go, the baby becomes much more active rolling from side to side and turning upside down in the mother's
belly. The baby even starts to suck its own thumb.By now, or sometime during the sixth month, the same tiredness that occured
during the first trimester will return. As your baby grows, space for some organs, such as lungs, start to become
limited. As the lungs are being pushed up it may get more diffcult to breath. This doesn't cause complications for the mother
or baby. At the end of the sixth month of pregnancy, the baby is about 12 inches long and weighs about a pound and a half.
|The baby's unique fingerprints are already in place. The muscles lengthen and become organized.
